National Corporation of Tourism (ESCA name), or National Corporation for Hotels and Tourism, was founded to own and operate hotels, leisure complexes and related businesses. The hotels are listed on the NCTH website as being part of Danat Resorts & Hotels Group. NCTH is not the same as the Abu Dhabi National Hotels group (ADNH) which is also listed on the ADSM. Hotels and other business that National Hotels Corporation has interests in are:
Abu Dhabi Intercontinental Hotel. Owned by NCTH (since 11 Dec 1996), operated by Inter-Continental Hotels Corporation (agreement expiry is 31 Dec 2010).
Al Ain Intercontinental Hotel. Owned by NCTH (since 11 Dec 1996) , operated by Inter-Continental Hotels Corporation (expiry of agreement 31 Dec 2010).
Al Dhafra Beach Hotel, Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. Owned and operated by NCTH (since 11 Dec 1996).
Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna, Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. Owned and operated by NCTH since 2005 when construction was completed.
Al Raha Beach Hotel, Abu Dhabi (from NCTH website, not listed in financial accounts)
Coconut Island Resort, Abu Dhabi. Joint Venture with Aldar Properties (ALDAR), expected completion in 2009.
Liwa Hotel, Liwa, Abu Dhabi (from NCTH website, not listed in financial accounts)

National Transportation Company LLC, Abu Dhabi - operates a fleet of buses and taxis, started commercial operations in 2003. NCTH has 50% ownership.

As of 30 June 2007, about a third of NCTH total assets is held in "Available for Sale Investments", which is stated in the 2006 end of year financial accounts as quoted investments in UAE companies, and a small proportion in unquoted UAE companies. In other words, stocks and shares. This goes a long way to explaining some, or all, of the volatility in NCTH earnings.
NCTH accounts are not all available on ESCA website but the NCTH website has end of year accounts from 1999.
Long-term loan
NCTH has a loan of AED 350 million from the Abu Dhabi Government (to pay for the first 3 hotels) which is to be repaid over 20 years from 2001 to 2021. The loan carries 2% simple interest. NCTH therefore has annual repayments of AED 24.5 million.
Share and dividend information
NCTH share split 100:1 in 2006, par value of shares changed from 100 dhs to 1 dh
