During 2006, Etisalat announced several projects in other countries and stated that it intended to expand significantly. Currently Etislat has invested in:
Afghanistan (GSM license)
Egypt (licence acquired)
Pakistan (Pakistan Telcom) - but may be some problems with that
05 Aug 2006 - Emirates Today reports that EFG-Hermes says Etisalat fair value is 30.70 dhs/share. Profits for 2006 expected to increase 19% from 4.3 bn to 5.1 bn dhs. Much of it due to increasing mobile subscribers within two years in Saudi Arabia from 2.3 million to 4.2 million by mid 2006.
