Comments about Ras Al Khaimah Cement Company FY 2006 results
A healthy cash dividend sounds good. Disappointing increase in profits considering all the construction going on. I guess you could look on the bright side and say that despite decreasing returns on Equity, Assets and Revenue, RAKCC still managed to increase their profits. But there's a few questions to be asked all the same - why are returns decreasing, and why was profit increase insubstantial?
The director's summary is mediocre. All they've done is write the numbers in sentences with a few percentages. The only useful bit of extra information is the comment that Revenues increased by 8% despite 2% decline in volume of cement sold. That actually sounds embarrasing. Whatever the increase in cement cost was during 2006, it was surely more than 10%, so you'd expect RAKCC Revenues to have increased by a greater amount.
